Lingerie Retail in Exeter
34 South Street
I am not the same size as 99% of women and find bras that fit very difficult to find. The service at De'Bora is second to none. If they don't have what you need in stock they will order it for you. Very professional and Exeter is very lucky to have them.

I have visited this shop (with an appointment) several times and find the personal service amazing. This shop is like an old school tailor shop - you are treated as an individual and you will find the absolutely perfect fit of bra for you, which is exactly what I need and want. High street lingerie, even if they measure you, I have found does not fit properly. Here, Debbie will find the correct fitting bra for you, so comfortable you will forget you are wearing it. This shop and bra fitting experience was a revelation for me. I have been 100% happy with my purchases, including maternity bras when I was pregnant. Yes the bras can be expensive, but I would rather pay £40+ for a good bra that fits me perfectly, than £10 for 4 bras that are uncomfortable and create 4 boobs!

Finally I have a bra that actually fits me and is comfortable. I was dreading having a fitting but it was done so discreetly and professionally. I am very pleased and looking forward to buying lots in the future.

the above post criticising Debbie could not be further from the truth! I have shopped here for about 15 years and Debbie is one of a kind. Her knowledge, experience and empathy is second to none. Yes, things are put away but the shop is tiny and you only have to suggest colours, styles you may like. As for being able to just browse, you can. Debbie is so experienced in what she does she knows what will make your figure look good whether you are big and busty like me or after a mastectomy. She ensures the bras are comfortable, well fitting and fit for the job. The bras are expensive but she is not pushy at all if you want 1, 2 or half a dozen. It is fantastic to have such a niche private business in Exeter. To suggest shopping online or out of town is what we dont want.

I visited De Bora yesterday and was very pleased with the whole experience. If you want one to one help and advice then this is the place to go. I bought the first one i tried on. Briliant service.

I went to De Bora for the second time yesterday and met Sam. She was so helpful. She started by checking that my previous purchases from the shop still fitted, and then measured me again for a couple of new bras. Sam was superb. She knew from experience what would fit my size and shape. She chatted to me like I was an old friend. She brought out some bras that I would never have thought about wearing, but they looked great! A brilliant shop for those that have had bad experiences else-where. Yes, it is 'hands on' but you are made to feel so comfortable. Brilliant - would recommend to anyone.

I travelled from Somerset to find this shop, not realising that appointments were needed, but Debbie had 20 minutes to spare before her next appointment. Don't go there if you are a shrinking violet as all your wobbly bits get manhandled, but in no time at all I had tried on and bought 4 perfectly fitted bras. I've always hated shopping for these, as being a larger lady it's always been difficult to find something pretty yet supportive in the usual department stores, and even online I've bought 2 or 3 in the same size to find that while one fits the others are way too small. What Patricia says about not being able to browse is quite true, but I find browsing endlessly frustrating, and I know if I had made an appointment and was looking for a particular colour or style then Debbie would have shown me a good selection. Shopping here was a revelation and I would recommend it to anyone.

Poor attitude and failure of service permeates this little shop. Based on South Street in Exeter you will first be pleased with the eye-catching window display. You will not however be able to say 'I like that' and pop in and browse or buy. Entering the tiny shop you will first wonder where the range of lingerie is and then you will be told to book a half an hour appointment for a later time. The reason for this appointment is that you need to have a personal assistant to shop. This personal assistant will try to ascertain what you would like and then go and dig through their hidden stock - all stored in hidden draws and worst of all in plastic sandwich bags with little labels on. I'd like to emphasis at this point there is no way to browse - you are totally reliant on the assistant to guess what you will like, and if they assume you won't like something you will not get to see it. A summary of the above is that this is not a shop for shopping. You cannot browse, view the stock, or try on things which you would like to try. Now we get onto the manager of the shop - a lady called Debbie. I personally found her attitude demeaning and rude, she seemed to fail to understand the boundaries which should be observed between the client and the assistant. I would go as far to described her behaviour as being like a bully. In all I would suggest that if you are local and seek a good store, visit Eclipse. If you are happy to select online visit Figleaves (free returns), or if you are happy to travel further afield their are plenty of better boutiques in Bath, or the Wolford shop in London (Kings Road), or the Rigby and Peller shop also in London. Hope this helps.
