Best year

I worked for Reg Gale in1971-2. It was the best year of my life, living and working in N Devon. My wife became pregnant with our second child-daughter Jessica- so we moved for more money and into another exciting phase of architecture in Stevenage. Eventually we moved to Canberra, Australia, and work on major public buildings, High Court, War Memorial etc. with top Aussie architects, Col. Madigan, and Denton Corker Marshall, who I believe are now working in UK. In Nov 2000, my son Barnaby, then 28, died in a marine accident because of the awful state of Queensland marine law. So my wife and I are now just completing law degrees. I think often and fondly of the office and working in Barnstaple with Reg and staff, when Barnaby was a toddler. They were wonderful times, the designs superb, and the people great. Thanks Reg. My kind regards, Ed Houghton-Ward.
