I have been a pupil at the dance school since I was 9. Id always loved dancing but never thought of taking classes until a friend asked if I would be interested. I decided to give it a go and haven’t looked back. Being at the ballet school has taught me discipline and respect which are both qualities that have served me well in all aspects of my life so far. I have taken numerous exams through the ballet school and have taken part in many shows which I am proud to be a part of and are well appreciated. I am very thankful to the dance school for every thing they have had to offer me. From summer schools, shows and prize givings that have had a huge impact on all aspects of my life. I am also thankful to the ballet school for allowing me to take my progress certificate when there where times when taking my exam was difficult. (Progress certificates are a lovely idea for pupils who do not wish to take their exam for whatever reason but still want to keep up their grades.) I am very passionate about my dancing and hope to have a career in it and one day become a teacher my self and I know that all teachers and friends at the ballet school will support me and others like me to pursue my dream. I would highly recommend this dance school to any one!!

I have been a pupil at the dance school since I was 5, and from that early age I really enjoyed and still do enjoy everything they have to offer. I dance every day of the week and do Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and Cheerleading. I have made a great circle of friends there and have a great deal of respect for the teachers. They are all different but have a lot to offer if you are thinking of making it either a career or maybe want to go into teaching. We do a fantastic show every 2 years for which we have the best sound and lighting there is on offer. All I can say is that if you want to excel in dance then this is the place to be!

I joined sidmouth ballet school at the age of 10 after doing ballet when I was younger. I joined in at grade 3 and stayed there for a year and a bit until 'good enough' to get honours. Others who didn't meet their 'standards' would do a progress certificarte which they made up. However, at this time the ballet school was a friendly possitive place to be. By grade 5 I was held behind terribly. This is proven by moving ballet school to Woodbury Dance Studio where after not doing ballet for 6 months and then taking grade 7 after only 8 months got distinction (highest). I can't stress what pressure all pupils nowadays are under to be 'twigs' and not have a normal shape. Missing classes causes an uproar even though we are the ones paying them a fortune. The school is decreasing in size after recent events. The technical training and great enjoyment for the first few years I was at Sidmouth was excellent, but unfotunately I would not recommend it now.
