We visited the Rusty Bike recently, and as the above review mentioned had a really good experience at the Fat Pig, also expecting the same. Our experience was poor. We booked a table which meant we had been sited right next to the toilet door - basically looking in side every time somebody went to use it. We ordered the mixed dry cured meats to start and share - when we asked for bread we were told there were no 'side orders of bread' available. I can only describe the meats as glorified luncheon meat. An overpriced and very very small portion of lamb arrived which my brother devoured in .5 seconds. No vegetables, a gritty undercooked risotto and £50 later we left the building. Our complaint about the risotto was also not taken very seriously and no mentioned of 'was everything ok' when I came to pay the extortionate bill - We wont be returning.
My husband and I went for a meal on 2/1/10 to celebrate my birthday. We had previously had a wonderful meal at the Fat Pig Restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it; expecting the same quality if not the same experience from The Rusty Bike. However, this was not the case. My husband ordered the Steak and I the Lamb - both of which were 'luke warm' on arrival. We returned both meals, informing this was the case. The waitress returned them informing us they had been 'reheated'. However, they were no hotter than before. We were very dissappointed and therefor informed the waiter when we paid for our meal. We felt our complaint was not taken seriously enough - we were told how 'sorry' they were and given a voucher for a free meal, which we will not be using!!! Needless to say, we will not be eating there again.
