Michael Cane is massively over-rated. As it is in such an old luxurious building and overlooking the beautiful cathedral green, it becomes top of people's list when they want to impress someone. This is somewhere that only maintains a good reputation because everyone assumes it must be good because it is so expensive. It is not good. It is just expensive. The size of the portions are miniscule. You will come away hungry. The quality of the food is average but not outstanding. I would not eat here again. If it was reasonably priced I would probably be happy enough with the food but as the menu is so expensive, I expect a lot more. This restaurant does not deliver on taste, substance or value.
