  • 1 Not bad for teenagers

This club is set over two floors and so there is plenty of room for dancing and a choice of music, which is great. The drinks are not too expensive considering it is a club. However, the club is always full of teenagers, many of whom look decidedly underage. I know that this club has had a problem in the past with underage drinking with I think under the new licensing laws they have had to sort out. The bouncers are not friendly and I am not sure they do a particularly good job of assessing who is old enough to go in. I am not a big fan of clubs because of the drunks. This is quite bad for drunken behaviour, mainly because it is such a popular club full of young people with not much of an idea about social etiquette. This club could be nice but it isn't. The customers let it down!

As with all clubs in Exeter, once you have been to a proper one in Bristol, Birmingham, London or any of the other big cities and their superclubs, you may find Volts underwhelming. But for Exeter its not bad, decent sized dance rooms, not too big or small. Two different levels, although the idea of stairs as steep as those in a club was not the brightest, and when the occasional foam night is put on this becomes a death trap!Bouncers are some of the least friendly in exeter, but they do a good job of kicking out the drunks.Crowd tends to be mostly a mix of 17 year old student and early 20s non-students.
